She exhibits her collection at museums and libraries often and resides in Sequim, Washington.Lisl Armstrong is a sea glass jewelry artist and collector. As a leading authority on sea glass, she is often called upon by her peers to lecture at sea glass festivals and to assist in other educational efforts. She has beachcombed all over the world, served as vice president of the North American Sea Glass Association, and created the organization Sea Glass Artists & Sea Glass Collectors. She resides in Englewood, Florida.

This is a good book that delivers what it promises. I recommend it to anyone who has ever picked up and wondered about a piece of sea glass. The pictures are very good/inspirational too. I also appreciated the pictures and descriptions of ceramic pieces that were very similar to ones I have found - nice to know where the shards with delicate blue patterns likely came from. And though I've never found a glass fishing float, it was fun to learn that I probably have pieces of a certain shape and color that came from broken floats.The book has some minor formatting issues. There are a couple of places where a picture is referred to, but there was no picture in the indicated position. And at least once, the indicated picture didn't seem to illustrate the point made in the text. There's also one technical point that I would dispute. The author assumes that large pieces that are not worn are not as old as other glass on a particular beach - the reason being that all pieces are constantly rolling around on the bottom and will wear at a similar rate. On my local northern California and Oregon beaches, erosion buries and exposes deep deposits at intervals of as much as decades. I think some pieces simply end up being deeply buried for long periods where they are protected. For example, the pictured piece has, in all likelihood, been in the sea for 100+ years. It is not very worn, and I found it in an area of recent deep erosion.Anyway, despite my minor quibbles, I'm very pleased with the purchase and the sea glass education.

An OK read. Nice images, but in my opinion 3/4 of the book could be removed and I would not miss it. Lots of "what I did, things I did, etc" I mean I want to do the finding, not read about you and your life of finding stuff. I believe a better investment is the card deck.

This a beautiful book. The author has done an excellent job of integrating an informative text covering the various types of sea glass and notes on sea glass collectiong with lush photos of exceptional sea glass finds. The substantial softback binding makes it perfect for carrying along on your next sea glass collecting trip.

I am a huge sea glass lover and collector and have been wanting something like this to guide me and help me understand my finds :)I'm surprised it's actually thicker than what I thought, the pictures are beautiful and the reading is very easy and pleasant to understand. The photos in this book are great! It not only shows great pictures, but the author knows EVERYTHING about sea glass. She knows where most of it comes from and tells great stories about where she and others found their unusual sea glass, pottery, bottles, etc. Not only fun to look at but very informative.

GORGEOUS BOOK. Want to cut out and frame the beautiful photos! Nicely written - who knew there was a whole world out there of sea glass afficianados? Only problem is, my little collection is woefully dull compared to the rich finds of some avid collectors! Too bad "the window is closing" due to plastics replacing glass as stuff thrown in the water....

This book is exception for beach glass collectors. The photos are excellent, and the descriptions and history of shapes and colors is well covered

I got this as a Mother's Day gift for my mom. We were going to the ocean for a week-long trip and she was really excited about finding some sea glass. This book was perfect. The pictures are beautiful and there is a lot of nice excerpts to read.
