This book uses three examples to illustrate the different states of matter. The author first demonstrates this with water, and then goes on to use a candle and the human body for further clarification. The photos are colorful and well done. The text is simple and direct. I recommend this for all who want to teach young learners, as well as those who have trouble with language such as ESL students and the mentally disabled. All should be able to learn from this great little book.

The content is great, however nowhere in the product information says it's a VERY small book. It's only maybe 5 x 7 inches...I bought this book for a classroom read-aloud! There would be no way they could see it. It's fine though for students reading at their desk, or a small gift.

Great addition to our unit on states of matter

This book gives a very brief intro to the topic. It's a little too basic for the bulk of my third grade students, but will be a good level for struggling third grade readers.

Gives them the info they need without too much detail. Works perfectly for first graders and other lower grades. Only concern is that the book is so small.
